Born into a Franco-Spanish family that had lived in Tunisia under French protectorate for several generations, the director's mother was forced into exile in 1960, after the country's independence. This tearing lived when she was only fifteen years old is transmitted to her children, who grow up in the fantasy of a Tunisia evoked as a lost paradise, while seeing their mother overwhelmed by depression.

This film is the story of the director's desire to investigate and reclaim a transmitted story on which she built herself.
